November 14th, 2019, Waltham, MA; This past weekend was a busy one for many of our GPS MA teams.

Here in state, we had over two dozen teams competing in the NEP Final Four event held at the MYSA Complex is Lancaster, MA.

The NEP Final Four Weekend signals the end of the Spring season and brings together the top U11-U14 teams from the NEP leagues this season to compete in a knockout tournament.

U11-U14 Boys and Girls crowned winners in the Premiership, Premiership 1, Championship, League 1 and League 2 division.

In total GPS Massachusetts was represented by 17 total teams, 13 of them Boys and 4 Girls. In addition to the 17 GPS MA teams competing a number of our partner clubs qualified. 6 Boys teams and 2 Girls teams represented our partner clubs GPS Hammer FC, GPS Fortis, GPS Vipers, GPS Galway and GPS North Shore.

In total, 12 of the 25 sides qualified for their respective finals, with a few of our sides losing to fellow GPS teams. Out of the 12 that qualified for finals, 6 of them lifted the Final Four Trophy at the end.

While our GPS MA regional teams were competing at Lancaster in the NEP Final Four, six GPS MA Elite Girls teams traveled to North Carolina for one of the premier events on the calendar, the North Carolina FC Girls Jr Showcase.

Both the Red and White squads for the 2008, 2007 and 2006 Girls competed at the WRAL Sports Park against some of the best teams in the country.

It was a succesful weekend for our MA Elite Girls teams as they finished the event with a combined record of 14 wins, 2 draw and 4 losses amassing an impressive 61 goals scored while only allowing 17 goals. Out of the 20 games played in total, the MA Elite Girls managed to collect 9 clean sheets as well.

The GPS MA Elite White 2008 Girls won the U12 Girls Elite Navy bracket with 3 wins and a single loss, conceding only two times.

The GPS MA Elite Red 2007 Girls were crowned winners of the U13 Elite Red bracket on the back of some impressive displays in which they won all 4 games scoring 18 while only conceding 2.

Our GPS MA Elite program is comprised of the top players within the GPS regions and operate from U12-U14 during the Fall.

Started in 2014, the MA Elite program comprises two teams at each age group; MA Elite Red and MA Elite White.  Teams train out of centralized locations with core state-of-the-art facilities at Fessenden School in Newton, Hillside School in Marlboro and Union Point in Weymouth.

GPS Massachusetts will be hosting our November Tryouts beginning the week of November 11th. This will be for ALL of our regions.
