November 6th, Waltham, MA, 2019; The end of the Fall 2019 NEP season is upon us with the NEP Final Four being hosted this weekend at the MYSA Fields in Lancaster, MA.

The NEP Final Four Weekend signals the end of the Spring season and brings together the top U11-U14 teams from the NEP leagues this season to compete in a knockout tournament.

U11-U14 Boys and Girls will be crowning winners in the Premiership, Premiership 1, Championship, League 1 and League 2 division winners. 

In total GPS Massachusetts will be represented by 17 total teams, 13 of them Boys and 4 Girls. In addition to the 17 GPS MA teams competing a number of our partner clubs have seen their sides qualify. 6 Boys teams and 2 Girls teams will represent our partner clubs GPS Hammer FC, GPS Fortis, GPS Vipers, GPS Galway and GPS North Shore.

“Qualifying for the Final Four weekend is never simple so to be represented by so many sides shows the strength of GPS’ programs at the younger ages,” said GPS MA general manager Matt Hardiman. “We are very proud of our regional programs and the development these teams have exhibited since the beginning of the season.”

Our regional program success this fall has also been matched by our GPS MA Elite teams. 

Our GPS MA Elite program is comprised of the top players within the GPS regions and operate from U12-U14 during the Fall.

Started in 2014, the MA Elite program comprises two teams at each age group; MA Elite Red and MA Elite White.  Teams train out of centralized locations with core state-of-the-art facilities at Fessenden School in Newton, Hillside School in Marlboro and Union Point in Weymouth.

For Boys teams the GPS MA Elite White 2007 Boys and the GPS MA Elite Red 2006 Boys both clinched the NPL A division titles.

The GPS MA Elite White 2008 Girls and the GPS MA elite Red 2006 Girls both clinched the top spot of the NEP Premiership and NPL A divisions respectively.

The GPS MA Elite Red 2008 Girls and GPS MA Elite Red 2007 Girls both finished as runners up in their divisions.

Additionally MA Elite teams compete in some of the highest ranked tournaments in the country including North Carolina FC Showcase, Bethesda Invitational, Jefferson Cup and Disney Showcase amongst others. 

Fall 2019 marked the inaugural season of the Revolution Development League. This league was created to provide competition of the highest level for teams in the area at the U12 age level. 

GPS MA were represented by the GPS MA 2008 RDL Boys squad.

The squad finished the season with an impressive 12W-5D-1L record scoring an incredible 90 goals while conceding only 32 across their 18 games, both good enough for best in the league.

GPS Massachusetts will be hosting our November Tryouts beginning the week of November 11th. This will be for ALL of our regions.
