February 14th, Waltham, MA, 2019; This May ten 2003 Boys will enjoy the experience of a lifetime when they travel to Munich to compete in the FC Bayern Youth Cup following their selection at the GPS National Team Camp last weekend in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

The GPS National Team Camp saw 420 of the best players within the GPS network gather together to compete. 50 clubs from 20 states, two Canadian Provinces and Puerto Rico were all represented.

The FC Bayern Youth Cup is a 7v7 tournament hosted in Munich consisting of teams from across the globe. The ten players selected from the camp will compete as Team USA at the event.

“The opportunity to participate in the FC Bayern Youth Cup is unique for our players,” said GPS DOC Peter Bradley. “It is an amazing event both culturally and from a soccer perspective and they are getting a once in a lifetime experience.”

Players will get the chance to compete on the Allianz Arena field against teams representing countries such as China, Singapore, and Nigeria amongst others.In addition to being an incredible soccer experience the Youth Cup provides players with the chance to interact with players from a myriad of cultures.

Every player will also have the chance to meet a current FC Bayern Munich player. Last year, the teams had the opportunity to take pictures with and get autographs from James Rodriguez and Robert Lewandowski

On the final day of the camp, GPS DOC Peter Bradley gave a brief presentation on the 03 National Team and where they would be competing over the summer before showing a video on the FC Bayern Youth Cup.

With the help of FC Bayern coach Thomas Dollner and FC Bayern legend and World Cup Winner Klaus Augenthaler, Bradley then announced the roster.

Nikola AnticGPS Massachusetts – Goalkeeper – Antic is a formidable presence in goal possessing excellent handling and agility.  He excels in 1v1 situations and has superb distribution. Antic was a standout at the Youdan Trophy last summer.

Will LuikGPS New Jersey – #6 – Will was recently named the 2003 GPS National Team Player of the Year and proved he was deserving of the honor with his performance at camp. He is a defensive midfielder who leads by example and shows great awareness in the defensive third.

Gabriel AltawilSoccer Vision Academy – #5 – Gabriel is a centerback with quality organizational and communication skills who is just as comfortable with the ball at his feet as he is without it.

Jake PratherSDB Academy – #10 – Jake is the definition of an exciting attacking option. While his natural position is the #10 spot, he can be deployed anywhere across the attacking line and make an impact.

Gilberto FerreiraGPS New Jersey – #9 – A powerful forward, Gilberto excels in the hold up game. His movement behind the defense presents him with a steady flow of goal scoring chances and he possesses the composure in front of net to finish on a consistent basis.

Jonathan Klein GPS Massachusetts – #11 – Winger with the lungs to trek up and down the field for the whole game. He has an eye for the final ball and finds himself in dangerous positions often.

Joao Caetano TuccilloGPS Orlando – #7 – Joao is another  great athletic option out wide. He has pace and the explosive power to change speed and direction quickly. While usually deployed out wide he can play effectively through the middle as a #10 as well.

Anthony GagliardiSoccer Vision Academy – #7/#11 – With the ability to play on either wing, Anthony is a direct player with the ability and confidence to consistently beat defenders in 1v1 situations.

Christian PiccolottoGPS Canada Academy – #6 – Christian boast an excellent range of passing combined with good positional awareness making him a great option to sit in front of the defense.

Wallison GabrielGPS NASA – #9 – Wallison is an intelligent forward with great movement and decision making in the final third. He partners this natural awareness with excellent 1v1 ability making him a danger going forward.
