IT Carlow in Ireland are now offering an exciting new College course in Sport and Exercise(Soccer). It is delivered by the Institute of Technology Carlow in association with the Football Association of Ireland. The aim of the programme is to provide an academic qualification that combines Coaching, Fitness and Player Development, with a broad based academic business or communications curriculum relevant to the development of the sport. The course will provide competencies and skills in such diverse areas as Player Development and Coaching. A key element of the course will be a work placement module within a football environment. The course will give an understanding of the cross functional nature of the business/sport environment and will develop in students a multitude of transferable business and communication skills.
WHAT WILL I BE ABLE TO DO WHEN I FINISH THE COURSE?
Graduates can progress to programmes in Business or Communications. Students can also seek relevant employment in sports related business or public relations environments. Potential Career Paths include: FAI Third Level Football Facilitator, FAI Development Officer, FAI Administration, Sports Management, Club Development, Coaching/Fitness, Business or Public Relations, as well as opportunities in sport and soccer organisations overseas.
